Upon first encountering An unfortunate incident… the viewer is not quite certain what they are looking at. Cute, soft, highly detailed disparate fabric parts litter the ground. As the viewer approaches the work the smaller pieces come into context, transformed from endearing fiber artworks to the blown off bits of human flesh. I am very interested in this moment of discovery.
